River Trail Middle School is located in northeastern Fulton County in Johns Creek, Georgia.
The school opened in 2001 and currently enrolls approximately 1600 students in grades
6 – 8.  Nearly 750 students at River Trail participate in the band, chorus and orchestra
programs. In 2007, River Trail was named a NCLB National Blue Ribbon School, 
one of our country’s most prestigious honors bestowed upon schools.  River Trail was
among 8 public and 2 private schools in Georgia recognized in 2007.

The band program at River Trail is under the direction of Angela Reynolds and Jennifer Compton.  
Currently, there are 300 students in the band program.  River Trail students participate in jazz band,
Solo and Ensemble, University of Georgia Middle School Band Festival, GMEA District V Honor Band
and GMEA All State Band.  The 2009-2010 RTMS Symphonic Band was selected to perform at the 
2010 Georgia Music Educators Association In-Service Conference in Savannah.
