Welcome to the
homepage for the River Trail Middle School Bands.
|

River Trail Middle School is located in northeastern Fulton County in Johns Creek, Georgia.
The school opened in 2001 and currently enrolls approximately 1600 students in grades
6 – 8. Nearly 750 students at River Trail participate in the band, chorus and orchestra
programs. In 2007, River Trail was named a NCLB National Blue Ribbon School,
one of our country’s most prestigious honors bestowed upon schools. River Trail was
among 8 public and 2 private schools in Georgia recognized in 2007.
The band program at River Trail is under the direction of Angela Reynolds and Jennifer Compton.
Currently, there are 300 students in the band program. Students begin instruction in fourth and
fifth grades and continue into the band program at Northview High School, under the direction
of Kelly Dickerson. River Trail students participate in jazz band, Solo and Ensemble,
University of Georgia Middle School Band Festival, GMEA District V Honor Band
and GMEA All State Band. |

THE RTMS
SYMPHONIC BAND WILL PERFORM AT
GMEA IN SAVANNAH!
The 2009-2010 RTMS Symphonic Band has been selected to perform at the 2010 Georgia
Music Educators Association In-Service Conference in Savannah! The band was selected
from a field of outstanding applicants from around the state for this prestigious honor.
Being selected is a huge honor and a rare opportunity for the students! The performance
will take place Friday, January 29th at 11:15 AM in the Main Ballroom of the Westin
Conference Center.
